Hey Pax. Welcome at hitchwiki! Great to welcome another experienced hitchhiker, especially when they are sitting in the same room ;) Did you already see this on Boats?? Robino 22:58, 17 October 2008 (UTC)
Hi. Well, I happen to know the stretch Maastricht to Amsterdam rather well on thumb. Heerlen is near. Not of any help now, if I went from Heerlen by stop, I would either do it directly (Heerlen-A76/A2-Eindhoven-A2-Amsterdam) or over Maastricht (Heerlen-A79-Maastricht-A2-Amsterdam). Perhaps depending of the place where I'm coming from in Heerlen. You started with the first one. Fact seems to be, the easiest way to hitch all the way to Amsterdam, to leave the car on the last petrol station before Eindhoven and ask your way to Amsterdam there. Which can take a little bit of time there. There is an extremely easy spot to get to Maastricht from Heerlen, which brings you to the official hitchers spot there, which, provided you use a sign Utrecht or A'dam often leads to a ride in that direction, passing by Eindhoven. And then it is a "whistle of a cent" (according to a Dutch expression translated into English) to get to Amsterdam. All of this is just theoretical information... you might not know the infrastructure here that well ;) --Fverhart 08:18, 22 October 2008 (UTC)
If you upload pictures, please think about copyrights. Your image of the liftershalte-sign was copyrighted, and the copyright was stated inside the picture. This is totally illegal. I deleted it. --MrTweek 10:50, 24 November 2008 (UTC)
Ooops. Thanks for fixing this. I will be more careful with image uploads in the future --Paxus 10:37, 25 November 2008 (UTC)
Hi! Your user page category has been changed to Category:Hitchhikers in the Netherlands because from now on this (along with the old Category:Hitchhikers) will be a standard categorization for hitchhikers on hitchwiki.org (see this discussion here for the reasons of doing so). If for some reason you don't want to be categorized by country, feel free to delete country category on your page leaving only a standard Category:Hitchhikers. We hope you don't mind, though.
