Public transport in Budapest is really good and cheap. A single ticket is only about 0€1,80€ 10 and it seems like conductors don't check the stamps (there seems to be no date/time information), so it might be possible to use them for a few days without getting caught. Buses and trams are less risky, but be careful with the underground, there is 24-hours watch at every stations these days (2008).<br />If you get caught without a valid ticket, you only have to pay about 10€€24.
