Rybinsk (Russian: Рыбинск) is the second largest city in Yaroslavl Oblast, Russia.

  • The city is located 82 km from the regional center, Yaroslavl.
  • It has the status of a city of regional significance and forms the urban district of the city of Rybinsk.
  • Located at the confluence of the Volga, Sheksna and Cheremukha rivers.
  • The city is relatively rarely visited by hitchhikers (for example, compared to Yaroslavl), but in recent years it has become interesting for weekend trips from Moscow.

Hitchhiking out

North towards Cherepovets and Vologda (Poshekhonsky Trakt)

  • At the intersection with Sheksninskoe highway, there is a closed police post. The bus stop is called "7th kilometer". You can get here by bus number 5 from the railway station.

Southeast towards Yaroslavl and Kostroma

  • Bus 108 goes to the settlement of Oktyabrsky.
  • You can get off earlier at the "Okrugnaya doroga" stop. At the intersection with Okrugnaya there are no traffic lights or streetlights; you have to stand on the acceleration lane under the sign "ZABAVA 1". The roadside has no guardrail. The surroundings are forested.

Southwest towards Myshkin, Uglich, Kalyazin, Tver

  • Intersection of Truda Street with the bypass road. There are traffic lights and streetlights. The "Myasokombinat" stop (bus 7) is before the bypass. There are several other suburban buses going further along the highway to villages, but no information about hitchhiking positions there.
