Hitchhiking out

West towards Nazran and Vladikavkaz

Option 1 - Northwest corner interchange

In the northwest corner of the city there is a two-level interchange towards Nazran and the village of Ekazhevo. There is no other direction to go except the "Caucasus" highway from here.

Option 2 - Chermensky DPS Post

5 km west from the turn to Magas on the "Caucasus" highway is the Chermensky DPS checkpoint. Here, all cars with non-local plates are stopped and documents checked. This is a 24/7, well-lit, convenient, and safe spot to hitchhike—key for hitchhiking on this entire highway.

Hitchhiking in

From the old capital, Nazran, it’s only 4 km to Magas via a new wide highway. If coming from Moscow, you will pass the “Chermensky Roundabout” with an Ossetian police checkpoint, and after 5 km the next roundabout will be the turn to Magas at the edge of Nazran.
