Klin (Russian: Клин) is a major (second-largest) city of oblast subordination in Russia, located in Moscow Oblast.

  • 80 km northwest of the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD) via the Leningrad Highway (M10). M11 bypasses Klin from the west.
  • For hitchhikers, the city is inconvenient since all traffic on M10 passes through Klin. If you don't need to visit the city itself, it's better to bypass it via M11.

Hitchhiking out

North towards Tver via M10

Option 1 - 6th Microdistrict or Yamuga village

Buses: 35, 39, 209. Minibuses: 21, 35.

Southeast towards Solnechnogorsk and Moscow via M10

Option 1 - "ATAK" Supermarket near the 5th Microdistrict

Bus stop "House No.66". Buses: 2, 4, 15, 17, 18. Minibuses: 4, 5, 13, 14, 54. Slightly ahead on the road there is a gas station.

Southeast towards Solnechnogorsk and Moscow via M11

Exit via A108 towards Ruza. After 4 km, a new large highway interchange will appear in the field. Go to the toll booth and hitchhike just after it, before the cars speed up. Do not go onto the expressway itself—it is dangerous and ineffective.

East towards Dmitrov and Sergiyev Posad via A108

Option 1 - "Belavino 1" stop

Buses: 22k, 26, 27, 28, 42, 46, 47, 48. Minibuses: 22, 26, 42k. The position is between the cemetery and several long villages ahead.

Option 2 - "Turn to Zubovo" stop

Buses: 26, 27, 28, 42, 46, 48. Minibuses: 22, 26, 42k. Excellent position—a smooth turn on the road to the left.

Option 3 - On foot

Leave M10 near McDonald's and walk through the historical part of the city (Trading Rows). There are no hitchhiking spots before the bridge over the Sestra River—the road is fenced. Immediately after the bridge, most Klin vehicles turn onto Gorky Street; right across from "Pyaterochka" is the first spot to stop cars. Then continue on local buses or walk through the villages along the road.

Southwest towards Ruza via A108

Option 1 - Through Chepel Microdistrict ("Lavrovo" stop)

Buses: 24, 29, 44, 44k, 44k/50. Minibuses: 44, 44k.

Option 2 - Intersection near "Hercules" factory

At the city exit. There is a large "Gazpromneft" gas station at the intersection. Right—Volokolamsk; do not take rides to Vysokovsk, select through traffic. Straight—a road with constant traffic jams at the Novopetrovskoye railway crossing.
