Hitchhiking out
East towards Doğubayazıt, Iğdır
To go towards Doğubayazıt or Iğdır, you need to get to the Ağrı Ring Road. You can reach the ring road by walking about 1 km from the city center. The Ağrı Ring Road passes 1 km outside the city center and is a major route with intercity traffic. You can hitchhike from any point along this road.
West towards Erzurum, Ankara, Kars
To travel towards Eleşkirt, Horasan, Erzurum, Erzincan, Ankara, or Kars, you need to get to the Ağrı Ring Road. You can walk about 1 km from the city center to reach the ring road. The Ağrı Ring Road passes 1 km outside the city center and is a key road with intercity traffic. You can hitchhike from any point along this road.
Additionally, you can take the Esenkent-Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University public bus line (the red line) and start hitchhiking at points along the ring road near the university.
South towards Diyarbakır, Van
If you want to go towards Patnos, Erciş, Diyarbakır, or Van, you need to get onto Patnos Road. For this, walk about 1 km from the center to the ring road, and from there, walk for about 1.5 km along Patnos Road until you reach the area near the prison.
