'''Oaxaca''' is a state in southern Mexico. Its capital and most important city is [[Oaxaca (City)|Oaxaca]]. Oaxaca shares borders with [[Guerrero]] to the west, [[Puebla]] to the northwest, [[Veracruz]] to the north, and [[Chiapas]] to the east.
[[Huatulco]] and [[Puerto Escondido]] are popular beach destinations at the Pacific Coast of the state. Hitching is very easy in the touristy places by the Pacific coast, a bit harder in the mountains and around Oaxaca City, and maybe even a bit harder in the Istmo. Still doable, of course, at least if you don't look too Mexican, sadly -- people are rather distrustful.
