28 December 2009 - The organization of the third edition of the European hitchhiking festival, 6-8-10, started. The whole hitchhiking community is asked to give a voice to designate a meeting place for 2010. All relevant information can be found on the 6810 article.

22 December 2009 - The Road Junky Travel Film Festival invites Hitchwiki to give a talk. Users are invited to submit their travel videos and to join our community on Facebook. Check out our trailer

15 March - 23 April 2010 - The Hitch, the biggest organised fundraising hitchhiking event in the UK, either towards Morocco or Prague, with approx. 1,000 hitchhikers to take part!
28 - 30 May 2010 - Road Junky Travel Film Festival in Berlin, Germany.
4 June 2010 - Hitchhiking race from Augsburg, Germany to Slovenia.
11 November 2011 - Hitchhiking Contest from Paris to Dakar, starting at 11:11.
