The Trans-African Highways are a road network of intercontinal highways in Africa. It is a project from the african union to increase the economical developement of the countrys in Africa. The contruction work on all of these highways is not completed yet, the goal is, that there are roads, which conenct almost every country in Africa with each other. At the moment (2009) about 50% of the TAH are paved roads, the rest is unpaved or even not build.
