Background:

I was born in Provo, UT to a Pakistani Muslim father and an American Mormon mother. They met at school at Brigham Young University in Provo, UT. We quickly moved while I was an infant to Chicago, IL (Skokie area). Not long after that we moved again to Long Beach, CA. Eventually I found myself back where we began and we moved back to the Northern Wasatch front of Utah. I attend the University of Utah studying Middle Eastern studies with an emphasis on Arabic.

Introduction to Hitchhiking:

I first started hitchhiking as a means of cheap travel. My friends and I went on a road-trip to Seattle, WA where we found a flyer for a music festival in Boston. We were from Salt Lake City and we suggested another road trip to Boston but my friends bailed on me so I decided to go myself. I did not have money for a plane or train or bus ticket. I thought of the idea of hitchhiking but was skeptical of going such a great distance my first time. So I used hitchwiki.org as my main resource and decided to go from Salt Lake City, UT to Tucson, AZ. It turned out to be successful and I have been hitchhiking ever since then (march 2014).
