Tonga is a small archipelago state in Polynesia, Oceania.

Hitchhikernick - Visited in June 2023 for 3 weeks. Average waiting time around 20 mins. Camped out in remote areas, left no trace and all worked out. The trash on the outskirts of main city and is ridiculous and stinks so you don't want to camp/saty there. Vavau is much nicer and wilder with the free roaming pigs.

Supermarkets are available and the Chinese ones (quite a few) have all you need at affordable prices.

Catching the 24hr ferry from Tongatapo to Vavau was a real pleasant experience as there was literally no other tourists. Was much cheaper than flying and may take time to hitch a boat, so didn't bother as ferry price was reasonable.

Be prepared for some rain showers.
