Hitching in Spain is not as good as in some other European countries. You usually have to wait for some time - but those who pick you up at last tend to be really nice. Sometimes you will have to be patient and I am not talking about just half to one hour patience since, once, I Latindane had to wait 4 hours to get a 300 kilometers ride with lunch included towards Madrid. You might heard that Spaniards do not usually pick hitchhikers. That's partially true, nevertheless, you will find a lot of foreigners from countries where the hitchhiking culture is better developed.
It seems waiting at autopista toll stops isn't allowed though.
