South towards Bratislava, Budapest 265
Take bus number 67, or the free "Avion bus" (it goes from 9am till 10pm every 20/30 minute) that starts on the bus stop "UzkaÚzká", and get off at the commercial zone “Avion”. There is a petrol station (where you can shower and even sleep) along the motorway which is going to Slovakia. It's a big commercial zone with big shops. One of them has free internet access, it's the electrical shop before Ikea.
This isn't the great spot, but there just isn't any better, so don't expect any miracles. Ondercan would say that the average waiting time is close to 2h and there's always a lot of local traffic near this mall. The petrol station is on the parallel road to the highway that goes directly to Bratislava so there aren't actually many cars going to Bratislava but mostly local people stopping by after shopping. Also it's almost impossible to hitchhike from the exit of Avion too, Ondercan stood there more than 2h with a sign with no success. In total Ondercan waited there more than 5h, when deciding to go back and take the train. While hopping the train it's important to remember that tickets are controlled twice, both after getting in the train and after entering Slovakia.
Second Option
This is probably a much better one than the first option. Take bus number 40, 48, 59, 67 or free "Avion bus" (not sure if the free Avion bus stops at stops while going to the shopping center) and get off at Hněvkovského. Walk in the same direction the bus was going (if you took the bus from the city center) and you will pass a cross with traffic lights. Just there is a 15 meters place for cars to stop where you can hitchhike and cars will be coming slow enough to stop. The road directly goes to Bratislava and average waiting time is less than half an hour. There is a petrol station 150 meters away if you need anything.
South towards Vienna 52461
Take the free bus from behind Tesco's to "Futurum Shopping center" (obchodni centrum) or tram 2 to Ořechovská (the Tesco stop). The Tesco´s is near the main train station, and the free bus has its stop right near the pedestrain bridge between the two big buildings. Once at the shopping center you will find a Tesco gas station, but most the people there are just staying in town. Better to walk south a few hundred meters to the Unicorn station down the way or continue a few more stops south with the tram (number 2 ?). Instead of holding a sign for "Wien" you could try "Mikulov" as well. It is the last city in Czech Republic just right at the border. There you will find another gas station and also good places for hitching with a sign.
Second Option === Northeast towards Prostějov, Olomouc, Ostrava 1462 <br />+ east towards Kroměříž, Zlín 1 <br />+ east towards Uherské Hradiště, Trenčín 50 ===Take tram number 8 to station "Krásného", from the station go to the overbridge. To Olomouc you will stay over head 30 minutes.
This is probably a much better one than the first ==== Second option. ====Take bus the trolleybus number 40, 48, 59, 67 or free "Avion bus" 33 from the railway station (not sure if the free Avion bus stops at stops while going Hlavní nádraží) to the shopping centerstation Langrova (it takes 13 minutes) and get off at Hněvkovského. Walk in Cross the same direction street and go up the bus was going (if street Slavkovská, after two minutes you took the bus from the city center) and come to a main road which you will pass a also cross with traffic lights. Just there is and continue on a 15 footpath straight for another 50 meters place for cars to stop where you can hitchhike and cars will be coming slow enough to stop. The road directly goes to Bratislava and average waiting time is less than half an hour. There is a petrol station 150 meters away if you need anythingwhich already lies on a highway.

From Vienna 461 or Bratislava 265
