::The reachability and quality of hitchhiking spots also counts I think. On top of the people, the roads in the North of Italy are pretty bad for hitchhiking as well.
::Looking at these stats, I notice two interesting things: L is actually pretty bad for hitchhiking, ''except'' for the gas stations on the highway.
