Less common are service stations located just outside a motorway exit. Although several maps will show them as service stations, they resemble the German Autohof.
Service stations serving two directions but situated on one side have specific advantages and disadvantages. On those it is easier to change the direction (+), but waiting for a ride or asking around less traffic will go the right way (-). Service A few "motorway service stations " outside (!) of motorway exits exist as well. These have similar advantages and disadvantages. They have an additional disadvantage: also local traffic uses these stations.
