There are different aproaches for blackriding. Some people just sit and when conductor comes give their ID and get a fine. If you are a foreigner the fine might never get you but it is not always the case. Also in some countries (for example Germany) you can go to prison for not paying train fines. So it might be wise to trick the conductors somehow and simply not get controled. Once Oncce you get into it you can have great success with crossing whole countries without any problems. Most important is to keep in mind that each train and each situation is unique and that you need to adapt and use different tactics accordingly.
