Contents
Experience
He lived in Italy, Germany, Norway and Iceland, and recently spent quite some time in Denmark too. He started hitchhiking only recently, in summer 2009 around Iceland, and in his yet short hitching career has thumbed through Iceland, Faroe Islands, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Switzerland and the Netherlands. His best-thumbed countries are Iceland, Norway, Denmark, Germany, and recently, Japan. The longest ride was overnight on a truck to Tokyo (500km).
Languages
He's fluent in Italian (native), English, German, and Norwegian. Less fluent in Spanish, Icelandic, Danish and Swedish. Can survive a basic conversation in French, Portuguese, Faroese and Dutch. He's desperately waiting for the right moment to learn a Slavic language. The best conversation was while hitching with a Faroese shepherd, speaking a mixture of Faroese, Icelandic, Danish and English.
Plans
After vagabonding in Iceland, Denmark and Sweden, Germany and occasionally Norway for some short-term jobs, he recently relocated his base camp to Amsterdam, where this time he will stay for a long time. In Summer 2010, you may see him hitchhiking around Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Austria, Czech, and across France all the way down to the Hitchgathering in Portugal. His big dream is to hitchhike to India and China, and come back to Europe waving his thumb along the Transiberian railway.
