Aberdeen is the third most populous city in [[Scotland]].
===South A96 North-West towards [[DundeeInverness]], [[EdinburghElgin]] or [[GlasgowInverurie]]===Work your way south of the river to Kincorth (Either take a district about 1hr bus or walk SW out from the train station).Walk onto city centre towards the Bucksburn suburb, following the A96 urban dual-carridgeway from the A90 Huidagian Roundabout (Stonehaven Roadfrom the Huidagian to the Bucksburn roundabout is roughly a 25 min walk).Just South of where Nigg After a while there is a large roundabout with a 'Lidl' supermarket and a MacDonalds above it. Take the road just before the roundabout to the right, called 'Inverurie Road meets ', it rejoins the A90 is A96 after a petrol station from which many people are heading southshort time.(sorry[Better to just keep walking along the main A96, ie go LEFT at this is roundabout]. After about ten minutes you will reach a lay-by with a fast food trailer. You have the choice of hitching here or a rubbish description, check google mapsbus stop just after the lay by. I personally find the bus stop to be better, youll find it easieris only another 1 or 2 minutes walk further.)From experience thumbing is === A947 North towards Banff === There are no good places to hitch from if you walk all the way to the edge of the Dyce suburb. You are left with rural roads with nowhere safe nor possible for people to stop for a good distance. I would suggest either hitching from within the Dyce suburb or even closer to Aberdeen with a sign for Oldmeldrum. Other options may be either to hitch to Inverurie and then take the backroad to Oldmeldrum (note: i have not very effective, be willing tested this route myself!) or take the bus to approach people as they fill up their carsOldmeldrum and hitch onwards from there.
=Accommodation and Sleep=There are always ample Couchsurfers in Aberdeen, we also have an SOS Couchsurf Group if you get stuck. There are no hostels in Aberdeen and hotels tend to be expensive, however if you do wish to stay in a hotel, the Railway Hotel and the Jury's Inn are popular hotels immediately outside the train station.Trashwiki & Nomadwiki ==
