Despite the fact that I'm now a double grandfather, hitchhiking is still my favorite way of traveling, although I don't seem to have the time to do a lot of it right now. I started in 1980, have now covered some 254,000+ km, averaging 10,000 km per year during all the years that I hitched - in 1981 and 1984 I didn't.
