After visiting the mausoleum, you can walk for 5-10 minutes to find a good spot. It's a wide concrete road and there are many cars going to Shymkent and Tashkent. If you are going to Almaty, you can continue in Shymkent.
Another option is take ''Marshrutka #1'' (August 2016) in the same road described above. This should take you almost 6km further in the road, just where it joins the city ring road in the south east. From there, although cars go a little bit faster, it's not difficult to catch a ride.
