Derry (officially Londonderry) is the second-largest city in Northern Ireland and the fourth-largest city on the island of Ireland. The name Derry is an anglicisation of the Irish name Daire or Doire meaning "oak grove". The conflict which became known as the Troubles is widely regarded as having started in Derry, of which twelve reminding murals in the Bogside district are still a popular tourist attraction.

Derry is one of the larger cities in Ireland and therefore easily reachable from both the south and eastern part of the island. Getting out of the city seems harder but still manageable from the right spots.

Walk Dungiven Road up to the roundabout near the hospital, where the A6 to Belfast starts. You should probably get a ride out of Derry before you even reach the roundabout, with plenty of space for cars to pull in at and between the sidewalks. At Randelstown the A6 turns into motorway (M2/M22).
