The name Derry is an anglicisation of the Irish name ''Daire'' or ''Doire'' meaning "oak grove". Derry is one of the larger cities in [[Ireland]] and therefore easily reachable from both the south and eastern part of the island. Getting out of the city seems harder but still manageable from the right spots.

Walk Dungiven Road up to the roundabout near the hospital, where the A6 to Belfast starts. You should probably get a ride out of Derry before you even reach the roundabout, with plenty of space for cars to pull in at and between the sidewalks. At Randelstown the A6 turns into motorway (M2/M22).
