If you're going somewhere along the Panamerican Highway (East or West) it's better to take a bus to [[Cuatro Caminos, Guatemala|Cuatro Caminos, Guatemala]] (3Q in July 2013, leaving from the market) and start hitching from there. Ron tried to hitch from within Xela and didn't work out. He ended up paying 5Q (~0.50€) for the bus to 4 Caminos. Found a ride within 30 minutes.
