Take metro linea 2 up to the last station - Vespucio Norte, from there bus B18. Ask the driver to leave you on the road to Los Andes; most probably he will take you for free. You can hitch from there.
'''NOTE: 22.05.2013''' There are some works on the road, you can only cross from Chile to Argentina between 20 and 7 (Argentina to Chile: 8 to 19). All of the cars and trucks will be waiting in the same spot, so its crazy easy to find a ride to Mendoza, Buenos Aires or even Brasil once you get there.
