Vowels: Vowels are pronounced very differently in Norwegian as opposed to English
* A pronounsed pronounced "ah" as in bar* E pronounsed pronounced "eh" as in heck* I pronounsed pronounced "e" as in here or "i" as in hill* O pronounsed pronounced "woo" as in willy moon and in other times, "oaw" as in hockeylaw* U pronounsed pronounced "ooou" as in poopsoup* Y pronounsed pronounced "yew" as in youngfew (rounded lips)* Æ pronounsed pronounced "a" as in hackbag* Ø pronounsed pronounced "uher" as in hull"her" without the R sound* Å pronounsed pronounced "oaw" as in hockey"law"
Additionally, the consonant J and the combination GJ is pronounced the same way you would pronounce Y (young). For instance, "jobb" (work) would be pronounced "yobb".
