It's pretty easy to get a ride at least to the "Joensuu ramp" from here, which is about 10 kilometers away, where you can take the road number 17 towards Joensuu. There's a bus stop about 300 meters away from the motorway. To go to north, stay on the road 5/E63.

Take a bus that is going to Jyväskylä from the bus station. Ask the driver for the first gas station on the motor way before the bus turns to Jyväskylä.
If you are going via Jyväskylä, one of the most beautiful hitch-hiking routes goes via Sysmä, Asikkala and Vääksy to Lahti. Very idyllic!

This direction is very difficult. Behind the bus station on Maljalahdenkatu there is a motorway ramp where you can try (a long time).
You can also walk a few kilometers on Niiralankatu to a bus stop
