Disclaimer
Because of my recent hitchhiking trip to Japan, I will be updating this page over the next days/weeks. Some info might not match with other info during this time. Also, I will be working on the page Japan2024, where I will give some in-detail description and recommendations without providing possible unnecessary info in the main wiki articles. I will be writing in the articles that exist here already too though, so don't worry! I may think about writing a short book about it with photography in mind since I took multiple hundreds of Gigabytes worth of photos with my Alpha 7 but apart from it to maybe not be that focused around hitchhiking itself but I will see! First I need to write it anyways...

Interesting encounters
01.05.2024; Hitchhiking from Merzig to Losheim am See in Germany: I do not think hitchhiking on the first of May is that great of an idea because the probability of drunken people on the road is a bit higher and the probability of people thinking you are drunk even more so. Still, I received a very nice ride with a waiting time of only 15min from a young guy in a Mercedes. Turns out his destination was just around the corner but he wanted to do something nice so he drove 26km just for me since since he didn't have any work that day. Only heard of similar stories from Japan, so I am glad to count to the 0.01% :D
