There are city buses running to all parts of the settlement and occasionally beyond, though infrequently. Suburban buses only serve the district. There are trains (elektrichkas) to [[Vozhega]] and [[Nyandoma]] (once per day each), and a train to [[Velsk]] operated by women (also once per day).

There are chain stores "Diksi" and "Pyaterochka" in the settlement, and a "Magnit" is under construction. There are also local shops, but they are usually more expensive and may have expired products. However, there is a tasty delicatessen in the center offering pastries and other delicacies.
