Hitchhiking out

West towards Kırıkkale, Ankara

To go towards Yerköy, Kırıkkale, Ankara, or Kırşehir, you need to reach the Ankara Road. You can either walk about 1 km from the city center or take the buses heading towards the university and get off at the Ankara Road junction to start hitchhiking.

For Kırşehir, you need to go out via Yerköy.

East towards Sivas

To go towards Sorgun, Akdağmadeni, or Sivas, you must reach the Sivas Road. You can either walk 1.5 km from the center or take the private buses heading to Yurtkur. You can start hitchhiking from the hill after you leave Yozgat.

North towards Çorum

To go towards Alaca, Çorum, or Samsun, follow the directions given for the east route and take the turn at the Alaca junction, near the Yozgat Sugar Factory.

South towards Kayseri

To go towards Boğazlıyan or Kayseri, you need to reach the Kayseri Road. You can take the private buses going to Bozok University campus and start hitchhiking from the entrance gate of the university. Although it is possible to travel between Yozgat and Kayseri via Sarıkaya-Sorgun, it is better to use the direct Kayseri Road. Note that the road between Yozgat and Boğazlıyan is one lane and ideally should be covered with a single vehicle. Despite being a single road, the Kayseri-Yozgat Road is a major north-south passage with a decent amount of traffic.
