I live in Porto Alegre (POA), State of Rio Grande do Sul, which is the most southern state of Brazilian Federation. POA is a large city with over 1.5 million inhabitants, which still retain behaviors of small towns, like seeing the sunset in Guaiba River drinking chimarrao (also called mate).
Rio Grande do Sul is the State of Brazilian Federation most different of the others, because the people here, who call himself "Gauchos", have typical costumes, language, drinks and other traditional habits. This is a result of influence of the proximity of the border of Argentina e Uruguay, countries which has Spanish culture.
