Wien (Vienna in English) is the capital of Austria.
Direction Munich, Salzburg
U4 to Hütteldorf, exit Hadekgasse (left) and go left again, you are right on the main road leading out of vienna towards west (Linz, Salzburg, Munich) There is a bus station which is quite a well known hitching spot. Change cars (if necessary) at the rest area in St. Pölten or Ansfelden.
Alternativly, you can go over the motoway via the bridge. Turn right, you will find after ca. 1km the Autohof Wien.
Direction Prague
From Handelskai by train to Kornneuburg. Coming out of the station turn left. Straigt follow the mainstreet. after ca. 1 km turn left into a small living street. Cross the railway. When you meet the motorway-bridge turn right. You are there...
Direction Bratislava, Budapest
There is a gas station on the highway to Budapest, where you can easily find a ride to Bratislava or further into Slovakia. To get to this gas station by public transport you should get to Enkplatz (by Metro U3) and from there you can take bus number 76A to "Haidequerstraße". then you just walk the Haidequerstraße to the north for a couple of minutes and you are at the gas station which is on the autobahn A4 towards the east (Györ, Budapest) you can check the timetable for public transport in Vienna at http://efawww.wiennet.at/wien/index_en.htm
