In Haparanda, next to Ikea, there is a [[roundabout]] where the road 99 branches off the [[E4]]. Best results are achieved by standing next to the E4 some 50–100 m after the roundabout. There's some space room for cars to pull over and stop. If you walk a little bit further, you'll come to the end of the industrial area at the edge of town. After another roundabout, there's a bus stop with ample space and nice camping opportunities.

In Tornio, walk along the E8 for about 1 km to get to an intersection. There is a bus stop after the traffic lights with plenty of space to stop. There is quite a lot of traffic, but mostly people drive only short distances to their homes. Try to get a short ride out of the city area to get longer rides.
