From the PKS bus station, walk north about 1km along Utrata street (highway 8 (E67)) till the roundabout. The highway 8 turns right here on Gen. Kazimierza Pułaskiego, so take the right turn and continue straight for 2kms until you are almost out of town. You can hitch at the junction of Knuta Olafa Falka street (opposite the Oil Transfer petrol station). There is a hard shoulder here just wide enough for cars but not trucks; however, traffic is moving reasonably slowly to make it a good enough place to hitch.
When If you are arriving from AugustowAugustów, if driver doesn't go any further than Suwałki, a great spot to get out is immediately and you are dropped off at the beginning of town. At where the first roundaboutbypass road splits off, all traffic for Lithuania there is taking a large lay-by just past the first exit, which is followed by a huge bus stop immediatelyroundabout where you can hitch and where cars can pull over. A sign (LT) will be very helpful and you should usually catch rides to Drumroots or further here easily. This spot is also perfect for night hitchhiking. There's even had a petrol station as well for truck just about squeeze into the communicative hitchhiker, but it is definitely worth hitchhiking at the bus stop as all traffic coming from the South passes herelay-by to give him a lift).
It could be also an idea to hitch The road enters Lithuania at the end of town at the twoBudzisko-Kalvarija border crossing (about 25kms from Suwałki) where long-lane road, though traffic is much faster there already and distance rides further into the author of this article currently has no idea if there Baltic countries are any good spots for hitchhikingpossible.
=== South towards Augustow, WarszawaWarsaw 67 === At From the PKS bus station, walk south on highway 8 (E67) along Utrata street for about 4.3kms until you reach the roundabout at the end southern edge of town, at . Hitch on the highway about 60m after the exit from the roundabout described above. Otherwise, there's some space to stop cars going south, but little light available, depending on is a large Orlens petrol station at the spot/visibility roundabout if you want to choose when hitchhiking ask drivers (or if you get caught in the rain/ at night).
