Soest is a city in Germany.

Located on the A44 45 km West of Dortmund, it is likely to pass here on your way West to Benelux or East, but the cosy old town is also worth a visit. If you like old city walls, meditivian houses and a lot of beautiful churches, you will enjoy to spend a day here.

Hitching out

West to Dortmund East/Soth to the direction of Kassel Munich Dresden

From the train station or the center you should take bus R51 to Warstein. Get off in the village "Muellingsen" and turn right from the road to the village itself. Turn right again to "Kirchweg" and walk through this path till the gas station Soester Boerde. To go East this is the first turn, to go West you have to pass through the bridge and turn then. Ticket for the bus will be around 1,60 Euro and as the drivers are checking mostly very carefull when you enter the bus, blackriding will be a hard challange.

North to Hamm

From the train station walk left (you can ask people for the police office, it is this direction) until you see a tunnel on the left side. Turn here and walk straight until you see a petrol station. From there you hitch and find lifts to the center of Hamm or to the A2 in direction of Amsterdam or Berlin.

Hitching in

If you come from the motorway, ask the driver to drop you off at the Soest-Ost exit. Here is a Burger King Restaurant, that is quite popular among young people of the town. On the parking it will be easy to find a lift to the city center. The town itself is small and everything can be discovered by walking, but the motor way is some kilometers outside.
