The downside to this route is the CAT only runs Monday-Friday.
Standing at pretty much any on ramp in the city, or if the ramp doesn't have much shoulder then where the on ramp connects with the highway if or a little bit up the road that leads to the on ramp doesn't have much shoulder, with an "I-5S " sign or a "5 miles" sign should get you out of the city to a place where you can get longer rides.
