[[Hitchhikers' Guide to Hitchhiking]] is a collaborate project to build an encyclopedia for the needs of hitchhikers. It's a compilation of tips about good hitchhiking places, knowledge about hitchhiking possibilities in different countries, general knowhow about what to pack and when to go, what to eat and how to stay safe.

The inspiration to this project came from the [http://www.wikipedia.org wikipedia]-project and the marvellous book of Douglas Adams - the Hitchhiker's guide to galaxy. The idea is to use the open Wiki system to gather information the same way [http://www.wikipedia.org wikipedia] does to result to a guide similar to the imaginary ''Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy'' is in the books of Adams: a guide that knows it all and is allways up to date.
