Accra is the capital city of Ghana.

Hitching out

West towards Cape coast

You can take a 'tro tro' (bus) from Accra to Kasoa for 1 or 2 cedis and get off at the toll station, where it's fairly easy to get a lift. There is a sign saying "No hawking [selling] beyond this point" But it seems that if you look like a tourist nobody gives you any hassle.

Northeast towards Ho

The main road going northeast passes through Tema before leaving the coast. This is by no means the best option, but one hitchhiker got a tro tro to Tema roundabout, then took another to Affienya. There's a police roadblock just north of the town.

Accommodation and Sleep

‎WanderingSaul did not find any decent places to sleep outside, though some internet cafes are open 24 hours. The Salvation Army hostel costs 10GHC per night.
