{{background}}This is a wiki for [[hitchhikers]], so we don't need a ''neutral'' point of view, we need the '''hitchhiker's point of view'''.
If we stick to writing simple, straightforward articles, then we will end up with a simple, straightforward guide. It'll be a wonderful source of information, and the wiki element of it is something to be admired. But the end product will just be a copy of what already exists on the Internet. With HPOV we've got the potential to really make effective use of this wiki and create a guide that's unique in every way, and more interesting to read. ==Personal stories==
Personal stories can be very illustrative of the hitchhiking situation in a place. So this is definitely allowed. But it should be in a different style, clearly seperated from the rest of the article.
: ''If so, what is a hitchhiker, and what is the hitchhikers point of view? If a non-hitchhiker wanted to hitchhike out of town, what would be his or her point of view?''
A hitchhiker is someone who hitchhikes. Anybody is welcome to hitchhike. The hitchhiker's point of view is one from standing on the side of the road or at a gas station and asking for a ride. Or someone who is interested in doing this and looking for more information about how, where, what, who, whatever.
