: Can we use imagery from CIA World Factbook? I haven't seen any copyright stuff on it, but I figured I'd get a second opinion. TruckThor 18:20, 23 April 2007 (CEST)
:: Yes, the CIA World Factbook is released under public domain, so there won't be problems. --MrTweek 18:30, 23 April 2007 (CEST)

This page has just been modified by an IP address in Australia. Whoever modified put his own, subjective I might say, impressions here. Can we ban non-user modifications just for this page, 'cause I don't like it when someone comes and disregards my 10,000km hitchhiked in my OWN country, and puts down their own, most likely subjective and irrelevant opinion. Thank you. TruckThor 11:51, 25 May 2007 (CEST)

:I think hitchhiking in your own country is quite different from hitchhiking in a country across the world. :)
:Maybe it's possible to rewrite the text a bit so that everybody will be happy with it? That's how we usually solved these issues. Guaka 10:46, 27 May 2007 (CEST)

I'm just checking this website for the first time, so I'm Swiss and have hitchhike in Romania one month last summer. As a foreigner the situation is not the same than for romanian, most of the time I didn't have to pay because I was considered as a foreigner and so, a hitchhiker like in every country. Especially there was some "rich, educated" people who takes me because I was interesting as a foreigner on the road, but it is more fun in a old dacia. Romanian people are really easy going and I think it will bu good to mention that hitchhiking is really very very easy and with a lot of fun (and for latin languages there is always a way to speak with people). Even if they drive like crazy... And if you have to pay, it is almost the price of the bus, I think 1 Leu every 10km when I was there. But it concern mostly rides from big town to town with a lot of people in the car, at least for me. You can mention also the way you have to indicated the road that you want to use with your hand... For me it is really THE country for hitchhiker! I have never wait more than 20 min. Maybe too easy?

Over at Wikitravel, there's a page proposed for deletion . Anything there you can use?

:Just got back from Romania and as Swiss guy above wrote, it's dreamland for hitchhikers. I don't want to forcefully edit the article, but it's misleading. I travelled from west to Black Sea and back, visiting cities on the way, I got 12 rides there in total and only 3 times there was any money in question. Two times they were cabs driving a longer distance, in one case I didn't agree to pay, so a woman left me there, once guy was disappointed, but gave me a lift anyway. And once I agreed to pay 10 lei, but in fact I learnt about payment after boarding. Still, it was "professional" bus. As for packed up cars it seems somewhat exagerated. - Brainac 24 June 2012

I updated a little bit the page. My GF is Romanian and I passed there 8 months (I'm here also right now). Some of the informations were completely wrong, other seemed written 20 years ago. Phidias81
