This is untested, but should work. Take the tube (Northern Line) to High Barnet, here take the 84 bus to South Mimms services, at the junction between the M25 and A1(M). One user tried this in November, arriving only 20 minutes before it got dark. He thinks the junction is too big, and the traffic too fast, for this to be a good spot.
