Even though the first option might look a bit strange, ithis is the most common spot and it'd suggest s easy for drivers to see you and there's enough space for one car to use that onesafely stop there.

Alternatively opposite of the railway station take bus no 27 towards "Letaliska" and get out at "Jarse". Continue following "Smartinska cesta" about 400 meters and turn to right from the traffic lights. There is a bus stop right after. Most of the cars passing now are going towards the highway. This Direction north-west there is the motorway E61/A2 starts from towards Kranj through the Ljubljana bypass. The best way to join this motorway is from the street Celovška cesta, at the bus stop Šentvid Karawanken Tunnel (stand in Slovenian: ''Predor Karavanke'') or over the corner before pass over the bus stop!!). Get there by bus number 1 border to Villach (direction Vižmarje), 25 (dirslov. Medvode: ''Beljak''), or 8 (dir. Gameljne) from the city centre. If people who pick you up don't go as far as you like, you can get a lift as far as the first "Petrol" gas station in Austria and further on on the highway (17km away) or the former toll station Torovo Tauern-motorway to Salzburg and keep hitchhiking thereover to Germany. There It is also a petrol station at the Radovljica-exit (right before Bled) which way that is useful used by most of those numerous Germans that go to the Croatian coast for getting into Austriahollidays.

Get out at the service area on the border. For [[Trieste]] it doesn't work well with TS sign - best option might be to use [[Koper|KP]] sign Postojna exit and then ask walk across the driver to drop you off at Kozina exit highway from there (go right in use the crossroads after toll boothsbridge). It's only 3 km from the border and on the main Rijeka-Trieste road. [[Sežana]] There is a town close good spot to Trieste as wellhitchhike southwards just few hundred meters after the bridge.

Another way to get to This service area is on the same gas station Ring around Ljubljana and is to very well-served by a lot of long-distance drivers. To get there take a bus lines number 1 or 1b and stop at Tbilisijska1B in direction of "Dolgi most" from the center. Keep walking straight Get off the bus on the stop "Mestni Log" and walk back in the direction of the bus is going highway. When you reach the overpass look for a very small and soon turn left at steep pathway on your right, starting next to the overpass. Descend down to the first streetfence, Cesta dveh cesarevturn right and walk a few metres untill you reach an unlocked door. After about 300 meter by feet When you'll start to see the gas station some 50 meters away re on the right other side, with some gardens in between. You can either pass trough one of the gardens and climb the fence, you should already be able to see the rest stop. Follow the pathway for another 100 m or walk few hundred meters longer to find so and there you are. There is a convenient passage through the fenceshower for 3€ and places for wildcamping around.

The on ramp beside the Lidl on Pot Rdečega križa is a 20min walk away from Mestni Log bus station. Most people here are heading south, but we found a ride to Zagreb is on another side of highroad!Šmarje - Sap gas station after an hour.

This service area is , and the ones that do usually do not enter the motorway here - this on the Ring around Ljubljana and is very well-served by ramp mostly serves inter-urban traffic, so you might have to wait a lot of long-distance driversbit longer. To get there From the city centre take a bus number 1 or 1B line 3 in direction Mestni Log from the center. Go off one stop before last, called of "KoprskaRudnik". Continue straight (the bus takes a turn just before , and get off at the final stop "Koprska" - don't follow it, go straight on!) on the street Cesta v Mestni log, after 2 minutes . In front of you there will cross a bridge over a small river. Continue straight and cross be the motorway over entrance. Cross the bridge, street and on the left side of the service area is about 500 m away. There is on-ramp road, on your left, you will see a golf course between you and small asphalt surface where all the service areacars pass, which and there you can cross by climbing its fences (not too high) if the personal allows stand and hitchhike easily. Pay attention that you, which hasn't always been the case. If they don't, you should take an immediate left directly after crossing re hitchhiking on the highway entrance (you're still on the bridge at that pointleft turn), descending to the guardrail. You are now between the golf course's fence and not on the highwayold road (Dolenjska cesta), which is quite a narrow path at some pointscontinuing straight ahead.
