Zielona Górais a town in the west of Poland. It's 180km from Berlin, on route E65 from Wrocław to Szczecin.

There are 2 youth hostels (red dots on the map), where you can stay for quite small fee (~5€ [march 2oo7]). <will be shown soon on the map>
1st (not far from center of the twon) is on Długa 13 street and 2nd on Botaniczna 77 street. (here are both places on one map)

Plan of Zielona Góra

How to get into the town

There are actually 3 main directions where you can come from:

If you want to stay in Zielona Góra, the best idea is to go to center of the town (blue area on the map). You can always ask your driver if he/she can stop (drop you) over there.

How to get to youth hostels

From center is very easy :)
in both ways you have to catch "0" bus in direction of Botaniczna street (not Wrocławska)(bus goes every 10-20 minutes).

  • hostel at Długa street (that one close to the center). Go with "0" bus till you reach Carrefour supermarket. Bus will stop just in front of that shop, but this is not your final destination ;) the next bust stop after this one, will be that right one :) When you go out from the bus, turn right. You will see traffic lights, behind them, there will be buliding made of red brick - that's hostel, you can alwaya ask for CKU.
  • hostel at Botaniczna street. Go with "0" bus to the end. Over there ask for street number. It shouldm't be far from that bus stop.

Getting from West

There are 2 ways to get into the town from that direction.

  • mostly, drivers with small cars going to Zielona Góra from direction Gubin, Słubice (check it on the map), so then go with them as far as possible to the center :) you can always ask for Castorama, Carrfour or Mc'Donalds.
  • lorry drivers (or drivers who don't stop in Zielona Góra) takes very often ring road/bypass. So then, you have to stop when you will see Auchan supermarket on the left (on the map it's checked by Łężyca direction). Then, you can go to Auchan and take free bus to town (but goes very rarely).

Getting from North

There is a few "possibilities" to get into the town from that direction.
First of all, you have to find out where the driver goes exactly.

  • if is taking bypass of Zielona Góra and goes to Wrocław or Germany
    • if driver goes to Wrocław you are rather unlucky ;). You have to stop then at the 1st exit to Zielona Góra and walk for about ~4km to town.
    • if driver goes to Germany then it's easier ;), there are 2 options:
    1. go with driver to 1st roundabout (before it, you will see MAKRO hipermarket on the right). Then walk for about 1.5km to town.
    2. go with driver to 2nd roundabout (after it, you will see Auchan supermarket on the right). Go to Auchan and take free bus to town or walk if you want.
  • or goes straight to the town, the easiest ;)
