Hitching out
West to Puebla or Mexico City:
If you are downtown Xalapa, you must catch a bus who say "Murilo Vidal" or "campo de tiros", and ask the bus driver to be dropped at the gas station: "gasolinera", after half an hour in the bus. Then you are on the road "carretera federal 140" to puebla. You may ask to a car to let you at the next gas station, another 5-10 min ride, or try to start hitchhiking from there. If you reach the second gas station, you'll increase your probability to catch a direct ride to Mexico or Puebla.
