The "A" is an abbreviation of the word "Autobahn", not a number like "alpha" or something. It is quite logical to separate that from the number. It is only coincidence that the next smaller category of roads in Germany is called "B" - "B" for "Bundesstraße" (the next category is "K" for "Kreisstraße").--[[User:Speckmade|Speckmade]] 04:12, 10 February 2012 (CET)
