Thanks for your addition to Kraków, but please don’t write in the first person on Hitchwiki ("I tried this spot in june 2012"). We try to keep advice here very generalized. If you absolutely must specify that something is your personal experience (which is rarely necessary), link to your username. CRCulver 21:33, 9 June 2012 (CEST)

Again, it is rarely necessary to mention yourself in an article, as you did with Vienna. Just write in the third person and keep your advice generalized so it is not clear who exactly wrote what line of the article. I've seen that you've mentioned yourself again in an article ("cyclebear found it a very good spot to hitch to Karlovy Vary from there in June 2014."). Please don't do this, it adds nothing to the article. CRCulver (talk) 10:37, 17 July 2014 (UTC)

: I deleted the mention of the "driveway" in the Vienna article because 1) anyone will see upon arrival that it is too short, and 2) at that point, you don't thumb from the driveway anyway, as you get fast results from asking people at the petrol station. As for mentioning yourself, sometimes it is necessary to specify personal experience, but "Hitchwiki editor X used this spot" adds nothing to the article: of course someone used that spot, otherwise they wouldn't have written about it here. I deleted the mention of the "driveway" in the Vienna article because 1) anyone will see upon arrival that it is too short, and 2) at that point, you don't thumb from the driveway anyway, as you get fast results from asking people at the petrol station. As for mentioning yourself, sometimes it is necessary to specify personal experience, but "Hitchwiki editor X used this spot" adds nothing to the article: of course someone used that spot, otherwise they wouldn't have written about it here.
