Thanks for your edit to Trieste, but please don't write in first person on Hitchwiki ("I took the bus 42 to the end"). On a community-edited site like a wiki, it is not clear who "I" or "me" is. So, we must keep everything in a neutral, third-person tone independent of any one person's experience. So could you please go and fix what you wrote? Also, just to let you know, "safe place to hike" is not correct English, because "hike" means something different than "hitchhike", so it would have to be "safe place to hitchhike from".
