Hitching is on my list of things to get more into, as the first ride ever was pretty awesome. Nelson to Christchurch in New Zealand, first ride of 15 minutes with drop-off on a supposedly better hitching place, second with an English truck-driver (apparently also on the list of the most nomadic-friendly professions!) for 45 minutes to a scenetic spot, and the last for the remaining 4 hours with a couple of young dudes in a nice new car for 4 hours all the way to ChCh central to meet up with my friends there. I'm still feeling a bit scared of hithching on my own, so would really like for some hitch-companionship out of [[Amsterdam]] in the nearest future.
