Daniel had previously hitchhiked extensively, having now amassed nearly 1000 rides over more than 150,000 km hitched since he first stuck his thumb out for a ride at 17 years old (actually he first stuck his thumb out for a ride at 9 years old, but that's another story). His hitchhiking has taken him to every Canadian, US, and Mexican state or province as well as nearly every other American country along with Japan and China. Some reflections on his travels, the world around us, and other aspects of his life can be found in Road and Corner Quarterly, his zine available at fine community bookshops across the continent on a less than quarterly basis.
