Diyforlife, also known as Zander, has been hitchhiking in North America for several years, occasionally hopping freight trains when the road is unfriendly. Although a traveler at heart, Zander engages in a variety of activities when not hitching rides. Zander is an anarchist, dedicated to annihilating all forms of hierarchy, domination, oppression, and coercion. He is also a squatter, a tattoo artist and piercer, a bicycle mechanic and enthusiast, a hyperactive member of Food Not Bombs [1], a volunteer at a food cooperative and a radical resource center, a member of an anti-authoritarian collective, and a juice-bespattered dumpster warrior [2]. Zander owes a great deal of his knowledge and life experience to hitchhiking. He is temporarily residing in Athens, Georgia, USA [3].
