Works fine for example at Enschede or Rotterdam, same with Karlsruhe. Somehow it's not working with Hörstel, it only shows Nordrhein-Westfalen, not Europe > Germany. Rare? Same with Munich. platschisite, wikitalk 18:54, 14 June 2008 (CEST)

Both, Nordrhein-Westfalen and Bayern, are redirects into the category namespace. When building the bread crumbs trail, the software follows redirects before seeing the isin in the redirecting page. Thus, München isin Category:Bayern, not in Bayern! Since Category:Bayern has no higher level isin, the trail stops here.
You could call this a bug, but actualy, it is a logical dilema. Either use the isin in the redirecting page and ignore a potential isin in the page where the redirects points to, or doing it the other way round. It's not possible to do both.

No, sorry, I have been wrong. After having looked through the code, I know it better, now. It's right the opposit way as I have told: First, it looks for an isin. If no isin is found, it checks whether the page is a redirect. If so, it follows the redirect, displays the level in italics and looks for an isin in the page the redirect points to. -- Hansm 19:54, 14 June 2008 (CEST)
There seems to be a little caching problem with redirect pages. On Wikivoyage, we don't use isins on redirect pages, so this problem did never occure. However, this will probably only affect new created isins on redirect pages, not those that already exist for more than a day. The MediaWiki caching system is kind of mysterious. It depends on user language settings, permissions and others. After I had clicked on all redirect pages with a new isin, the caches seem to have become updated. Now, all bread crumbs trails look good. Let's see what will be tomorrow :-) -- Hansm 20:31, 14 June 2008 (CEST)
Yep, seems that it needs some time to update the cache. Here everything works now :) We'll see, thanks for you help anyway! Nice plugin! platschisite, wikitalk 21:14, 14 June 2008 (CEST)

What about countries that are on two different continents (Russia, Turkey etc.) -- TruckThor 16:36, 12 July 2008 (CEST)

I would suggest adding Turkey to Asia and Russia to Europe. I guess that's the usual way to handle it, and so every country is in the continent, where it's capital is. Or maybe Turkey to Europe as well? --MrTweek 10:03, 14 July 2008 (CEST)
