Tarifa is a small town in the province of Cádiz, Andalusia, on the southernmost coast of Spain. The town is located on the Costa de la Luz ("coast of light") and across the Straits of Gibraltar facing Morocco.

Hitching Out

East towards Gibraltar, Malaga

Walk to the Northeastern exit (towards LIDL) and stand with a sign at the roundabout. Cars will slow down due to humps at the zebra stripes and they can easily stop. Perfect spot - for Gibraltar and likely further to Málaga!

To Tangiér

There are frequent passenger ferries to Tangier from Tariffa (up to 15 daily). Considering that it's a mere 14 kilometer trip that takes 35 minutes the price ( 37 euro) is a bit to high.

Either you could pay up or you could be a real hitchhiker.

Truckdrivers are allowed to take one passenger for free. If you manage to convince one of them to let you be that person you've managed to save 37 euro. You'll probably see the trucks standing in a seperate queue. If not you can just wait for the next one to come!
